Subitizing Snap Card Game

This simple, easy game is a great way to build children’s subitizing confidence. As they play their card, they will quickly start to ‘see’ rather than count, if their card has the same quantity as the previous card. Each quantity to five is shown as digits, random dots, bees, buttons, fingers, flowers, fish, sticks, and seashells.

Subitising is the ability to look at a small set of objects and instantly know how many there are without counting them. The importance of being being to do this is that it the beginnings of developing number sense.

This set has 50 cards and an extra one instruction card. Each group of cards numbers from 1 through 5, for example there will be a card with 1 butterfly, 2 butterflies, 3 butterflies and so on. For the cards to match it is the number of items in the picture, not what the item pictured is.
