A fun first reading and spelling activity.

Match and Spell is designed to encourage letter recognition, teach phonetic word building and promote matching of pictures and words, from simple words like ‘cat’ to more complex four-letter words. There are two ways to play, and the game is designed for both guided and independent word building.

To play – players must match the letter cards to the letters shown on their board in the correct order to build a word. This first version, is a simple matching game, which is a great way to introduce letter shapes and sounds. As little ones get more familiar with the letter sounds, they will progress to reading the words out loud. The more challenging version of the game, has players using the blank side of the boards and use the letter cards to build the word shown in the picture. These must be place in the correct order.

Great for encouraging matching, memory and observational skills. Developing language and literacy skills comes with playing this game as you discuss the sounds verbally used to pronounce these words. Games which require taking turns are great for learning patience and sharing.

This game includes 12 double-sided 3 letter word boards, 8 double-sided 4 letter word boards and 68 letter cards.

Suitable for 1 to 4 players. Game rules included.
