Under 12 Months

Throughout the earliest months a child will develop through a mixture of motor, sensory and emotional experiences. From trying to grasp or reach at a play gym to feeling textures that contrast the benefits include fine motor skills and hand-eye co-ordination. There is a fascination with mirrored objects, musical instruments such as rattles and grasping balls.

Before a child turns 12 months, greater movement and dexterity occurs. Children love toys that they can sort and put into containers, so look towards shape sorters, baby walkers with blocks and activity cubes.
