It’s laundry day!
The complete laundry process is right here, all in one unit where you can wash, dry, iron and fold away all your dolly laundry. There’s a pretty wicker basket to collect the dirty laundry, pop it all in the washing machine and then add 2 tablets into the top drawer. It’s then time to press the button to start/stop, select a cycle and spin speed on 2 clacking knobs. Select temperature for the drying cycle and watch as the clothes get tumbled about!
On the top there is a sink to hand wash the delicate items and a variety of 3 wooden and 2 cardboard cleaning products to assist a bright wash day. Now it’s time to hang the clothes on one of 3 lines with the wooden pegs, and once you’re sure it’s dry it’s finally ready to give it all a good press on the fold up ironing board on the side.
There are so many developmental benefits for playing at house. Within imaginative play children can copy everyday household routines and create their own scenarios. This in turn provides life skills for simple household tasks such sorting clothes, loading and organising. By sorting the clothes into colours or type there is cognitive development, which supports problem solving, independence, confidence and provides a sense of achievement. Why not try talking about the reasons we need to do these tasks and encourage language development – learning the new vocabulary.
This set does require self assembly, but don’t worry there are full instructions included.
